![]() ![]() On 1 October 2002, the JIOWC was realigned as a subordinate command to USSTRATCOM. In October 1999, the JIOWC was realigned as a subordinate command of USSPACECOM. The JC2WC mission was further expanded and resulted in redesignation as the Joint Information Operations Center (JIOC). In 1998, as a result of the Defense Reform Initiative (DRI), the JC2WC was realigned from the Joint Staff to US Atlantic Command. In September 1994, the mission was expanded and the organization was renamed the Joint Command and Control Warfare Center (JC2WC). The Joint Electronic Warfare Center (JEWC) was established by the Secretary of Defense in October 1980 and reported to the Joint Staff. The JIOWC plans, integrates, and synchronizes information operations in direct support of Joint Force Commanders’ and serves as the USSTRATCOM lead for enhancing information operations across the Department of Defense. JOINT INFORMATION OPERATIONS WARFARE COMMAND USSTRATCOM Center for Combating Weapons of Mass Destruction (SCC-WMD) Fort Belvoir, VA, Provides the Defense Department with expertise in contingency and crisis planning to interdict and eliminate the proliferation or use of Weapons of Mass Destruction. Information Operations tactics help protect United States interests while disrupting the adversary’s capabilities. Joint Information Operations Warfare Command (JIOWC) Lackland AFB, TX, Uses information as a tool to change attitudes or perceptions, creating desired results. Essentially, ISR helps ensure the best use of resources to provide decision makers and troops with crucial information when and where they need. Identifies and recommends appropriate resources to meet high priority intelligence requirements. JFCC – Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (JFCC-ISR) Bolling AFB, Washington, D.C. When directed, also provides alternate missile defense execution support. JFCC – Integrated Missile Defense (JFCC-IMD) Schriever AFB, CO Synchronizes operational-level global missile defense planning, operations support, and the development of missile defense effects for DoD. Joint Task Force-Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO) Arlington, VA, Directs the operation and defense of the Global Information Grid to assure timely and secure Net-Centric capabilities across strategic, operational, and tactical boundaries in support of Department of Defense full spectrum warfighting, intelligence, and business missions. JFCC – Network Warfare (JFCC-NW) Fort Meade, MD, Plans, and when directed, executes operations in and through cyberspace to assure US and allied freedom of action, denying adversaries’ freedom of action, and enabling effects beyond the cyber domain. JFCC – Space (JFCC-SPACE) Vandenberg AFB, CA, Continuously coordinates, plans, integrates, commands and controls space operations to provide tailored, responsive, local and global effects, and on order, denies the enemy the same, in support of national, USSTRATCOM, and combatant commander objectives. GS manages global force activities to assure allies and to deter and dissuade actions detrimental to the United States and its global interests should deterrence fail, employs global strike forces in support of combatant commander. JFCC – Global Strike (JFCC-GS) Offutt AFB, NE, Conducts kinetic (nuclear and conventional) and non-kinetic effects planning.
